Raider Ranks are back!!!

On Tuesday night we had a guild meeting to make the announcement that we are reintroducing the raider and master raider ranks. This change will effect raiding in several different ways. Below is a description of what you need to do to become a master raider.

1. Attendence:
To become a raider, you must raid 2 of the 3 days for 2 straight weeks. To move on to master raider, you will need to do the same for another 2 weeks. Once you have attained either rank, if you miss 2 or more raids in 2 consecutive weeks, your rank will be lowered by one. For example, if a master raider misses 2 weeks worth of raids they would be demoted to raider, 2 more and they would be a member again. If you are expecting to be missing 2 weeks worth of raids, please speak with an officer and let them know about your issue, otherwise the demotion will be automatic.

2. Raid Selection
At the beginning of a raid as we are forming groups, master raiders will have first choice on if they want to go that week. They may voluntarily give up their spot to a lower rank but are not required to. Raiders would be the next in line for a spot, followed by members, etc. This rewards those who are in attendance regularly with the ability to ensure raiding. Attendance is determined by being at the raid and available a minimum of 5 minutes before raid time. You will get credit for attendance as long as you are there, even if you are not one of the toons that actually raids.

3. Loot rolling
Loot in all 10 man and higher raids will be using the following loot rules. Any epic item that drops will first be open to master raiders that can use the item. As we do currently, we will not allow healers to roll on dps gear or dps rolling on healer gear, or tanks rolling on dps gear etc. Once master raiders have passed, raiders will be able to roll followed by members etc. Once everyone has rolled the item will be opened up to offspec rolls from anyone.

4. Alts and their eligibility
The raider and master raider ranks will be account holder specific. One main toon will be able to hold the raider or master raider rank. You will be required to specify your main and expected to attend raids on that toon. If you are asked to change to one of your alt toons, then your raider/master raider rank will carry over to that toon, however, if you are adamant about bringing an alt, they will roll at the member rank, so third. This will also effect their selection to the raid as discussed in item 2.

5. Guild Bank
The guild bank has been opened up to raiders and master raiders. All raiders will be able to take one stack from each tab each day. The master raiders have the ability to take 2 stacks per day per tab. Those toons will also be required to donate to the guild bank to keep their ranks. You can donate items, mats, pots, buff food, or gold. Please make sure the items you donate are of a high level and usable for raids. No grays, low level items or old BC items will be acceptable. Just remember, if you take a stack of 20 flasks, you had better be donating something of similar value. We expect our raiders/master raiders to be able to get items from the bank, but also expect them to donate. The final guild bank tab is a tab that only officers have the ability to take items from. If you need an item on that tab please let an officer know and they will be happy to get it for you. We do NOT expect to see bank withdrawn items to appear on the AH. Consider this to be your warning. Any toons found doing this will immediately loose their rank and perhaps their spot in the guild.

That does it for our changes to our raiding and looting style. We are doing these changes to reward those that attend and help the guild out on a regular basis. We hope this will increase our attendance as we are now holding you accountable for being there. So good luck Heros and good raiding!

Here is one thing to add. Going forward, telling an officer that you cannot make a raid doesn't mean you get credit for being there. It will however be taken into consideration if a demotion is evident. Please let us know if you know ahead of time that you cannot make it but that will not help you with a promotion.
