Raiding Rules for Heros for Hire

So you want to raid with Heros For Hire? Well there are a few rules that you need to follow and some tools you will need.

1. While this is a social guild...raiding is taken very seriously. When you raid, there are 9-39 other people that are involved, so please be conscious that your actions effect them.

2. The raid time on the calender is the FIRST PULL time. Invites go out 30 minutes early. You need to plan to be at the raid entrance at least 10 minutes prior to first pull for buffs etc. Please do not be expecting a summon...especially if you are to high level for the summoning stone. Warlocks need to save their shards for healthstones and soulstones...so please schedule enough time for you to purchase your own mats...repair...and fly/run to the raid location BEFORE the scheduled raid time.

3. We REQUIRE 3 mod/programs to be running during raid. The first is ORA2. This is a mod that allows you to see the main targets and helps with coordination. The second is Vent. Vent is a voice program so that we can tell you what to do. It is far to complicated to have someone whispering all the instructions to one or two people and is the reason for it being required. A mic is not required (but recommended) as you will be mostly listening. The last is Omen Threat meter. This shows all of the party members who are getting close to pulling agro from the main tank and prevents wipes. If you do not have these...please do not waste your time or ours as you will not be allowed to raid with us.

4. Vent is used for the raid leader to communicate instructions on pulls...if we are in combat nobody should be talking except a raid leader or class leader. Please do not ask for healing...or for a buff...or tell us your cat farted. We need to be able to communicate during battles and leading up to them so be considerate. Some chatter between fights when nothing is going on is accepted...but lets keep it kind of low key to keep the raid flowing quickly.

5. DKP is used in all 20+ man raids. Please make sure that first, you know what dkp is...and secondly how much you had when you entered the raid. Nothing slows a raid down more then waiting for someone to check how much dkp they have. You can alt tab as easily as anyone else. Also...please bid quickly so that the other 19-35 people don't have to wait any longer then needed while waiting for you to get your loot.

6. If you are leaving early, make sure you whisper the raid leader and the person running the DKP for that raid and let them know so the DKP can be maintained correctly.

7. Lastly...as was first...be considerate of your other raiders. Many of them rearrange their schedules so that they can make it to a raid. Some have put off their spouse/fiancee/girlfriend/boyfriend to be there. So please make sure you are there on time...ready to go...and are expecting to stick around for 3+ hours. Raiding is fun...but takes a lot of dedication.

The following links are updated since WOTLK. Smartbuff and Smartdebuff have been determinded to be the replacement for decursive. Also, healbot is our typical healing mod to help the healers know what is incoming and to conserve mana. It is a very nice mod that helps target and cast spells quickly for healing classes. This is not mandatory...but a good suggestion to make your life a little easier.

Please make sure you take a few minutes to read the raid rules again. All are important but the 3rd one has changed. We used to use KTM Threat Meter, but are going to replace that with Omen. Omen uses less resources and better calculates the threat being generated. Please replace KTM at your earliest oppurtunity as KTM will NOT read what Omen is saying and you will NOT be able to have accurate information on people using Omen.

As the raiding rules state, you MUST have CT Raid Assist (CTRA) and KTM Threat meter BEFORE the raid starts. There are some alternatives to those mods that are allowed and seem to work better for some of us than those.

As a replacement for CTRA, try oRA2 http://www.wowwiki.com/ORA2

As a replacement for KTM, try Omen http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/9101/

Both of these are ACE2 addons, and are 100% compatible with the mods they replace, so your raid leader will be happy. In fact most of the H4H raid leaders are using these alternatives now.

The only thing missing from oRA2 is it lacks raid unit frames, so you may need those yourself or use the Blizzard defaults. Alternative unit frames include Pitbull, Perfectraid, ag_UF, and many others. I use Pitbull.

You can always get the latest versions of these mods from www.wowace.com

So get your mods in order, do some homework on the particular raid we are doing, and join us! We need you there!

i have been using sraid frames... uses less resources than many others and does what I need it to do... FYI, if you are one of the many using mazzle ui, you do NOT have to add CT raid to that, as Mazzle includes Ora2 and Sraid frames, and KTM. I have heard good things about Omen, but I have not tried it as I am rarely in raids anymore.

I believe that the main purpose of this game, and guild is to have fun. With that said we all have to remember that our actions will affect the group or guild as a whole. Not being the best that you can be during a raid can prevent the rest of the raid group from being able to down a boss and clear an instance. So take some time, learn your class, read up on upcoming boss fights....and take 5min to dl the needed addons. I think in addition to what has been said, anyone who plans to attend Kara should follow this link http://www.wowwiki.com/Karazhan , and scroll down to where it says "encounters" it will take you through any boss or mob that we will encounter during the raid and even give tips and class specific info. Thanks to everyone who attends raids or any dungeons, and dont be shy if you want to be apart of the raids, ask someone what you need to do to prepare yourself or your character.

For Hunters Level 62+ and Hunters entering MC. You need SimpleTranqShot. There are a small number of fights that depend on the correct usage of this skill & we don't get any practice with it out in the wild.

You can get SimpleTranqShot from ui.worldofwar.net .
You can also get SimpleTranqShot from curse-gaming.com .

Please get it. Your tanks with thank you for it when it comes time to pay the repair bills. Your Healers will also appreciate the lower mana costs of keeping the Tanks up. You'll appreciate still *having* tanks to keep the claws & jaws away from your own butt.

As for the priests in raids another helpfull mod is Smartdebuff and smart buff wich usually come in the same package. This mod will help you keep up with removing magic debuffs and diseases. Also there are a few tips for general gameplay as a priest inside or outside of raiding in the priest class forum

PS no matter what Z says bout us we still rock! :P
